**************
On August 25th I received an email from my Uncle Butch in Michigan and my Brother in CA that my dear Uncle Dan had passed away.
We'd just spoken a couple of weeks prior - he'd recently returned from yet another reunion in Gatlinburg and said he was feeling quite tired. As always, it was a lively conversation between us, covering a wealth of subjects from insanity, physics to the solar system and back. We'd discussed heart valve replacements (he said I should have one and I politely declined) and he so graciously came back with "well that's your choice".
Uncle Dan has always been one of those shining stars throughout my life - probably one of the brightest - it is extremely difficult not having him here. He was such a brilliant, brilliant man. I loved him so very much and although those conversations we'd had entailed very few words, really, the substance was always so profound.
Rest in Peace Uncle Dan - I will miss you so much.
With Love,
Your Niece,
Vicky
